Our Mission
The Marie Dean Horse Protection Initiatives Canada is a registered Canadian charity established to assist horse owners in the care of their horses at times of financial need.
Our Values
We believe that as sentient animals, horses are intrinsically entitled to The Five Freedoms: Freedom from hunger and thirst, Freedom from discomfort Freedom from pain, injury, or disease; Freedom to express normal behaviour; Freedom from fear and distress
Our History
Anyone who met or knew Marie Dean was touched by her fervent love of horses and the desire to protect them. She stood out as a true horse lover and defender. Her tenacity in her dedication to our horses was felt by all who knew her. Marie’s life ended tragically in April 2015 when she succumbed to complications due to cancer.
In her honour, Marie Dean Horse Protection Initiatives Canada has been created to enable her dream to help horses become a reality.
